This was, without exaggeration, the most disappointing hotel stay I’ve ever experienced—and as someone who visits Hong Kong annually, I’ve stayed in many. I would rate it below one star if possible. I wouldn’t even categorise this as hotel. It should be tagged as motel instead.
We selected this hotel based on its 4-star rating on Trip.com, expecting a certain standard of comfort and cleanliness. Unfortunately, our experience was far from acceptable.
The room was uncomfortably small and had a persistent, unpleasant odor - a mix of stale air and chemical cleaners. Within minutes, I developed an itchy throat and difficulty breathing, which made staying in the room unbearable. The bathroom was so cramped it was nearly unusable, and the overall cleanliness was severely lacking—stained carpets, dirty walls, and a bed that caused skin irritation after brief contact.
To our dismay, we encountered another guest in the lobby who was also seeking a refund after discovering bed bug bites on his arms. When we requested a refund due to these unacceptable conditions, the manager flatly refused, leaving us with no choice but to pay additional fees to relocate to another hotel.
The contrast between this establishment and the other 4-star hotel we moved to was stark. It’s deeply concerning how two properties with the same rating could differ so drastically in quality.
While I understand that ratings can be subjective, this experience has severely shaken my trust in Trip.com’s review system. I hope both the hotel and the platform take these issues seriously, as no guest should have to endure such conditions. I cannot recommend this hotel in good conscience.
